Measure carefully. Order confidently.

A simple record of each window helps you choose the right mount and gives us what we need to review your shade specifications.

1 · Record every window

Use a steel tape measure and record inches to the nearest ⅛ inch. Label the room and window. Measure each opening separately, even if windows look identical. Write width first, then height.

Record all three opening widths (top, middle, bottom), all three heights (left, center, right), mounting depth, and obstructions. A few styles use different ordering measurements, so keep the full record.

2 · Inside mount

The shade sits within the window recess. Record the opening and the unobstructed depth. Handles, locks, cranks, and trim can affect fit.

Record raw opening measurements before making any deductions. Confirm the exact collection’s ordering rules before purchasing; factory deductions and fabric width vary by hardware.

2 · Outside mount

The brackets attach above or outside the opening. Record the full desired coverage area, including your chosen overlap and room for the headrail.

Check for trim, doors, handles, and floor clearance. The fabric can be narrower than the complete shade or track; confirm overall width versus fabric width.

3 · Check your selected style

Installation preparation

  1. Match each shade to its labeled window and inspect parts before installation.
  2. Use the instructions supplied with your exact product for bracket positions, fasteners, and clearances.
  3. Choose fixings suitable for the wall or frame material. Check the mounting surface before drilling.
  4. Secure brackets and the shade, then check smooth operation and clearances.
  5. Follow the supplied motor charging, pairing, and remote instructions. Have a qualified professional handle mains wiring.

Installation is not included in the online shade price. For assistance, email us before ordering. For homes where young children live or visit, choose cordless window coverings wherever possible. Keep cords and chains out of reach and follow the supplied safety instructions. See CPSC window-covering guidance ↗.
